Your first visit
Four steps from the front door to a class
A placement visit is a short time in the water with an instructor, so we can suggest the right cap color before your swimmer joins a class.
- 01
Step 1: Book a time
Choose a placement time on our enrollment page, or call the front desk. Tell us your swimmer's age and the cap you think fits, or tell us you are not sure.
- 02
Step 2: A short time in the water
Your swimmer gets in on the step or within arm's reach of the instructor while you watch from the lounge. The visit takes about 20 minutes, and a swimmer can get out at any time.
- 03
Step 3: Hear the level
The instructor suggests a cap color, tells you what they saw and shows you the classes with room on the schedule.
- 04
Step 4: Register and come to class
Register at the front desk or from home on our enrollment page. On the first day, arrive ten minutes early, rinse and pick up your cap at the desk.

What the instructor looks at
There are no right answers at a placement visit. The instructor notices how a swimmer gets in, how they float with support, how they kick and whether they like putting their face in, then picks the cap color where the first class will fit.
How your swimmer enters the water
Floating with support
Kicking and moving through the water
Blowing bubbles and getting the face wet

Bring
What to bring
A towel
One for your swimmer, and a dry one for the ride home.
Goggles
If your swimmer likes them. We have a few pairs to try.
Swimsuit or swim shirt
Swim shirts are welcome in every class, and a swimsuit under one is fine.
A grown-up
A parent or guardian stays at the pool. Brothers and sisters can wait in the lounge.
