Family policies

What to know before the first class, in plain words.

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

In the pool, and watching

An instructor is in the water or on the step beside every swimmer. Parents watch from the lounge behind the glass window, or from the bench on the deck, and a parent or guardian stays at the pool during every class. We practice getting to the wall in every level. Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision, here or at any other pool.

What to wear and bring

Swim shirts are welcome in every class. Please bring a towel and a swimsuit, tie long hair back and wear the cap in your swimmer's level color. Goggles are fine if your swimmer likes them. Shoes go in the cubbies by the front desk and swimmers rinse before they get in.

When to keep your child home

Please keep your swimmer home with a fever, a stomach bug or a rash, and for a day after they feel well again. Tell us by text or phone and we will move the class to a make-up.

Closures for weather and holidays

We close for school holidays and for the weeks between sessions. If the pool closes for weather or repairs, we text families and make the class up in the same session.

Leaving a session

Please tell us two weeks before you plan to stop, by phone or at the front desk. A session in progress finishes the weeks you have started.

Arriving late or leaving late

Classes start on time, so a swimmer who arrives late joins the class where it is. If you are running late to collect your swimmer, call the front desk and an instructor will wait with them in the lobby.

Brothers, sisters and friends

Brothers and sisters are welcome in the lounge or on the deck bench, with an adult. Please keep them out of the water and away from the pool's edge during class.

Phones at the pool

Please keep phones away from the water's edge, and ask before you take a photo, since other families are on the deck.
